Tits of Clay at Rockwood Music Hall, from Hedwig on Broadway

Tits of Clay at Rockwood Music Hall, from Hedwig on Broadway

We don't really like the word rockstar. Think it's overused, thrown around, applied to people and things that are far from qualified: like a parking spot, or a fashionable coat. But Neil Patrick Harris, you are a rockstar. Your undereye glitter, your second-skin pants, your big gestures: you are bringing it.

Our dear friend Tim Mislock (and also the very first performer ever to grace the 7TS stage) is a cast member in the new performance of Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway.  Last week, they debuted cover band Tits of Clay, where the very same cast does shreddy punk favorites in bars, in the wee small hours of the morning. Rock on, Tim, Neil, and the Hedwig crew.

One of our first-ever performers, Lucius, has basically become a famous band in the three years since then. We'd like to credit the 7 Train Sessions for their fame, but it's probably because they're spectacularly talented singers in front of a grrrreat band, and have a cool retro dance and costume vibe to boot.  Their album, many years in the making, is now out, and so far has garnered some great press (read on their website here).

They're touring the states and Europe this spring. Check out their schedule here, and follow them on social for the latest.

7 Train Session darling Elizabeth Ziman just released a new album! Nylon reviewed the "girl-power pop" track here, and Interview Magazine here.

She's also playing Monday nights at Rockwood Music Hall's newest stage, Rockwood 3. Hearing her in this 'quiet room' of a space with a grand piano is not to be missed.

Yesterday, 7TS alum Patrick Bower sent around "a memento from the last tour. Sofar Sounds Barcelona has just posted a nicely-done video documenting the performance of the last song on the last night of tour." Check it:

The music of Patrick Bower and the World Without Magic can be found here.
